The South Island neurosurgery expert panel will be listening when the head of neurosurgery in Christchurch addresses clinicians today about New Zealand neurosurgery issues.
Christchurch Hospital neurosurgery clinical director Martin MacFarlane is giving the lunchtime talk at the Rolleston Lecture Theatre.
Expert panel members Anne Kolbe (chairwoman), Glenn McCulloch and David Russell were all expected to attend the talk, National Health Board project manager David Graham, travelling with the panel, confirmed.
Attending the talk was considered part of the panel's work around the South Island, Mr Graham said.
He declined to comment when asked about the timing of the talk.
A Canterbury District Health Board spokeswoman said the public were not permitted to attend.
The Otago Daily Times has requested notes of Mr MacFarlane's talk.
The spokeswoman said it was unclear there were notes.
