''Incredible amounts of snow and really cold - that's what you need for a good ski season. And it's not just Cardrona. All resorts have had a good season. It's great for New Zealand. Fantastic snow and a fantastic winter gets more visitors here.''
Ms Legnavsky said the large amount of snow enabled skiers and snowboarders to explore more terrain, which led to less crowding and fewer accidents.
The ski area also extended its season by a week this year, staying open until the end of the September October school holidays.
It was ''T shirt weather'' for Cardrona's closing day, she said. People dressed up for a ''fashion in the field'' show during the afternoon.
