A jewellery and giftware shop in Ardmore St, Wanaka, had its glass front door smashed by a car yesterday.
Instead of reversing out of a park, the driver, an Indian tourist with his wife, drove forward over the footpath and into the doorway of Orbis. Shop assistant Melissa Ashby said she heard a loud crash, but no-one was injured.
A police spokesman said the damage was covered by insurance. No charges would be laid.
