The transformation, from 7am-4pm, was part of an annual global event which promotes the importance of urban spaces within cities and towns.
The car park in question is on the corner of a busy Queenstown street and staff from Southern Landmarx and Vivian and Espie were on hand to advise those interested in the event.
Sarah Anderson, of Southern Landmarx, said they had received no negative responses.
"Everyone loves it.
"Everyone is more surprised that this is only one car park.
"We really just wanted to do it to create debate about urban space."
