Police are investigating an unexplained death in Rotorua.
The Criminal Investigations Branch is at the scene at a residential property on Peace St, Fenton Park.
A spokesman said police received a report at 4.27pm of a person dead at the property.
"People rang us to say there was a person dead at [a] house."
Detective Jeff Alpe, who was outside the house, told the Rotorua Daily Post it was an "unexplained death".
He said inquiries would continue, and police would be containing the house overnight.
The scene is cordoned off.
