A man suffered critical head and neck injuries after a van he was travelling in rolled in Tuai, Wairoa District today.
Two other men injured suffered serious and moderate injuries in the crash on Putanamu Rd about 11.15am.
The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter spokeswoman Louise Harvey said the helicopter flew two men in their 30s, one in a critical condition and one with serious injuries to Hawke's Bay Hospital with head and neck injuries.
One other male was taken to Wairoa Hospital in an ambulance, a St John spokesperson said.
Inspector Mike Coleman of the Central Communications District said the crash was being investigated by the serious crash unit.
