Christchurch rattled by aftershocks

Canterbury has been rattled by two aftershocks this morning.

A magnitude 3.6 quake struck at 7.04am, at a depth of 12 kilometres, 20 km south east of Christchurch.

Later this morning, at 11.19am, a second quake struck 10 kilometres south east of Christchurch, at a depth of 11km, GNS Science reported.

The second quake was felt widely in Christchurch and Canterbury.

Police had received no reports of damage and St John ambulance had received no reports of injuries.
