Both lanes of Dunedin's southern motorway at Green Island are now open again after a single-vehicle crash caused one to be closed for a time this morning.
A police spokesman said the car crashed into the roadside barrier between the Westland St onramp and the Old Brighton Rd offramp, about 5.50am.
The 18-year-old male driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured.
It was believed he had swerved to avoid an animal.
One lane was blocked for a time but has now reopened, the New Zealand Transport Agency advises.
