Dunedin churchgoers were out in force yesterday in processions marking Good Friday.
The Northeast Valley Baptist Church was the starting point for the Northeast Valley procession, which made its way down North Rd, collecting about 150 people from St David's Presbyterian, St Martin's Anglican, Pacific Islanders Presbyterian, Sacred Heart Catholic, and the Salvation Army churches, on its way to the Dunedin Botanic Garden.
The Community Choir, led by Clare Adams, sang Sounds Nor' Easterly before hymns and readings.
Mornington residents met at St Francis Xavier Catholic Chuch.
Bill Steele carried the cross on the group's way to St Mary's Anglican Chuch and onwards.
In Mosgiel, Vise MacKinlay and Gerald Scanlan carried the cross from St Mary's Catholic Parish.
The procession was followed by hymns in Memorial Park.
