An early morning joyride ended with a trio of occupants arrested.
Police were called to the Halfway Bush area around 2am on Saturday following reports a car had been stolen.
The vehicle's owner reported seeing young men crash-starting the vehicle, and he ''took off after them and later confronted then'', Acting Senior Sergeant Paul McLaughlan said.
A Taieri Rd resident told the Otago Daily Times he had heard a ''loud bang'' and then looked out the window and saw four police cars.
''They got just one guy out of the vehicle, cuffed him and put him straight in a police car, and then the police car took off looking for someone else.''
A parked Peugeot hatchback, white BMW sedan, and a Toyota stationwagon sustained panel damage.
