A long list of roads remain closed as Otago mops up after days of heavy rain and three Otago rivers are at their first flood warning.
The Dunedin City Council is reporting 10 roads closed because of flooding or unsafe conditions. For latest updates click here
They are:
- Henley Road, closed from SH1 - north end - to Henley Berwick Road, flooding;
- Garthmyl Road, closed from Mt Ross Road to Oliver Ave, Middlemarch, flooding;
- Sheppard Road, closed from Allans Beach Road to Papaniu Inlet Road, flooding;
- McGrath Road, closed from State Higway 1 to Ramrock Road at Waikouaiti River;
- Mount Cargill, closed from Upper Junction Road to Green Road, unsafe conditions;
- Silverstream Valley Road, closed from the end of the seal, flooding.
- Flagstaff/Whare Flat Road, closed from Rollinsons Road, flooding.
The Otago Regional Council is showing three river monitoring sites have reached their first flood warning but the levels water at all three are now dropping.
The rivers are: the Taieri at Sutton and Outram, and the Shag at The Grange.
