The Otago Community Trust has donated $65,000 to the New Zealand Academy of Sport South Island, the trust announced yesterday.
The funding would be used to build a high-performance floor for the new facility.
The floor would have a seamless surface with an indoor track built into it.
The money would also help build a recovery centre with a heated hydrotherapy spa.
