After walking in iD Dunedin Fashion Week events for years, Zoe Cadzow will now be the face of it.

The 18-year-old model was selected to head the promotional campaign for iD 2011, the images for which were shot in the former chief post office last night.

The location was chosen to link the city's architecture with its reputation for producing edgy, creative fashion.

Creative director Luke Johnston, of BrandAid, wanted to create a "seemingly gravity-defying model floating in a mysterious Dunedin location".

An iD committee member and photo-shoot stylist, Margo Barton, said the image would have a "surreal element".

"The night shoot combines collection items from designers who will feature during iD Dunedin Fashion Week, in a heritage location, and illustrates the fashion style Dunedin is known for: dark, moody but also glamorous and vibrant," she said.

The image will be used on all promotional material for the event, which runs from April 5 to 10.

The iD fashion shows are on April 8 and 9, and the emerging designer awards on April 7.

Modelling agent Aliana McDaniel is holding a casting session for budding fashion-week models on Sunday, from 3pm to 5pm, at Ra Bar.
