Still, it demonstrates Mraz's songwriting chops (aided by Los Angeles all-woman outfit Raining Jane), which include an ability to phrase lyrics in a range of fashions, from staccato to smooth, glide-over-the-changes croon.
Sometimes it's just too simplistic: Long Drive could have been written by any number of boy bands; and the rhythmic, hip-hop snap of Best Friend is window dressing an ultimately insipid and obvious ode.
Destined to rise to the top of that brew radio programmers call adult-contemporary.
