Runaway

Based on Peter May's much younger escapades, Runaway is two parallel stories. One takes place in 1965 and the other in 2015. In 1965, five teenagers scatted Glasgow seeking fame and fortune in London, with three returning before year's end, sadder and wiser.

In 2015, now elderly men, ''shadow people with spent lives'', they run away again to face what they have been running from for 50 years, forced to do so by the recent brutal murder of their friend in London. It is a thoughtful book, full of nostalgia and a pleasure to read.
