Upcoming artists have made themselves at home in a revamped studio space next to the Cloakroom Gallery, in Queenstown, and will display their artworks to the public this week.

Young Wakatipu artists Sunhee Shin, Paulo Marrtens, Dominic Wilson, Martin Bell and Kris Thomas are new members of the Queenstown Art Society (QAS), based on Stanley St.

Their exhibition, called "Changing Times", celebrates their revitalising involvement in the group.

It will run from Thursday, to October 15, on Thursdays and Fridays, between 11am and 4pm.

A special viewing will be held on Friday, October 1, from 5pm to 6.30pm.

"By dividing the studio space into smaller areas, we've been able to give more opportunities to more artists to join the Queenstown Art Society," gallery manager and artist Sue Wademan said.

"The exhibition lets the public see what is on offer at the studio and show off new young talent."

Mrs Wademan said other artists were welcome to apply for studio space by contacting her, or artist Spike Wademan, during the QAS building's opening hours of 11am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
