A Sydney restaurant worker has been bashed and beaten with a baton by three men as he took rubbish out.
The injured man, aged in his late 50s, has been taken to Royal Prince Alfred with head lacerations, police say.
Nothing was demanded of the man, who was beaten while in a lift on his way to drop off rubbish about 9.30pm (AEST) on Sunday at a restaurant in Ultimo.
A crime scene has been established and police are looking for the three men.
