A baby crocodile and a python are settling into their new home at a Sydney wildlife facility, after they were discovered during a drug raid in the city's west.
Drug Squad detectives happened upon the 50-cm long baby croc and the carpet python during a search of a home in Londonderry at 7am (AEST) yesterday, police said.
The pair - along with two small turtles - were allegedly being kept in fish tanks in a bedroom.
Police said that they also unearthed a small clandestine drug laboratory, including two litres of a precursor chemical, 200 ecstasy pills and 300 grams of methylamphetamine or "ice".
The animals, which appeared to be in good health, have since been taken to a Sydney-based wildlife facility, where they are being cared for by veterinary staff.
A police spokeswoman would not confirm which facility it was.
Since the discovery, a 21-year-old man has been charged with buying, selling or possessing protected fauna but no arrest has been made in relation to the drugs at the property.
Two other properties were also searched yesterday, with police seizing 15 grams of cocaine, eight grams of ecstasy and about half a litre of steroids at a residence in Cranebrook.
A 25-year-old man arrested at the scene has been charged with multiple offences, including supplying cocaine on an ongoing basis.
He appeared in Penrith Local Court on yesterday, where he was refused bail to reappear again today.
A further 300 ecstasy tablets were found during a third search at a Badgerys Creek property, along with three motorbikes and a caravan - all allegedly stolen.
Detectives said they anticipated more arrests would be made.
