Viral video dig at drive ban

A parody of a Bob Marley song used to mock Saudi Arabia's ban on women driving has gone viral, receiving millions of views in just a few days.

The YouTube clip, featuring comedian Hisham Fageeh (26), recasts Marley's hit 'No Woman No Cry' as 'No Woman No Drive' and supports the campaign of Saudi women defying their country's ban, BBC reports.

In the video, Fageeh sarcastically tells women not to consider getting behind the wheel.

He whistles and dances and sings lyrics that include "I remember when you used to sit in the family car but backseat... in this bright future you can't forget your past, so put your car key away".

Fageeh says the inspiration for the song came to him ''either in the shower or in the toilet''.

Though no specific law bans women from driving in the country, women are not issued licences.

Powerful clerics enforce the ban on women drivers, warning that breaking it will spread "licentiousness".

The video was posted on Friday and has since drawn more than 4 million views.
