Police have named the woman who died in a single vehicle crash near Kaiapoi this morning.
She was Linda Joy Glendenning, aged 20, of Rangiora.
The crash is believed to have occurred soon after 8am on South Eyre Road between Burgesses Road and Mabers Road.
Police say at this stage it is not clear what has caused the vehicle to lose control, causing it to cross the centre line and strike a tree on the other side of the road.
An investigation is continuing.
