Otago has beaten Southland 12-8 in a warm-up match in Alexandra this afternoon.
Played in chilly temperatures Otago was never behind and won through four penalties by Hayden Parker and Peter Breen.
Otago will take on North Harbour in its opening ITM Cup match next Saturday at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
