Mark Purdon will look to add to his stunning season when he lines up four good chances at New South Wales Breeders Challenge day at Menangle on Sunday.
Not content with training seven winners on New Zealand Cup day including New Zealand Cup winner Adore Me, Purdon has prepared the 3yr-old male pacer of the year in waiting in Have Faith In Me, and geared up five winners on Harness Jewels day with training partner Natalie Rasmussen.
Purdon heads to the big track at Menangle with chances of adding more group 1 wins to his season tally, although he will not have all favours in his four digs at top-level success on Sunday.
The most exciting race of the day should be the A$125,000 ($NZ140,000) 2yr-old fillies' final at 3.17pm (NZ time), in which Purdon's unbeaten filly Our Golden Goddess has lost out in the barrier draws to the record-breaking Heavens Trend.
Purdon, who takes the drives on all four of his hopes on Sunday, will leave the gate from barrier 7 after the emergencies come out, while Heavens Trend will have the inside running to the first bend from barrier 3.
Our Waikiki Beach will be a sizzling hot favourite in the 2yr-old male pacing final one race later, especially after he lobbed barrier 3, while Supersonic Miss (3yr-old fillies) and Kept Under Wraps (3yr-old male pacers) have also drawn nicely on the inside half of the front line.
Kept Under Wraps was slightly disappointing in Saturday's semifinal, getting a soft lead only to be run down by $80 outsider Casino Grin.
The other semifinal winner, Mouse In The House, has drawn wider, so Purdon should be able to dictate terms again this week.
