Trainer Cran Dalgety holds the key to the 3-7win free-for-all at Forbury Park tonight with Bettor's Fire and Hip Hop Anvil engaged.

Bettor's Fire has been racing soundly in good company.

He will be driven by Dexter Dunn, first reinsman for the stable.

Hip Hop Anvil is the best-performed horse in the field as the winner of 11 races. He is eligible for the race through being driven by an inexperienced junior driver.

Scott Stewart, who has won four races, is aboard Hip Hop Anvil, a winner at Forbury Park in late April and subsequently successful at Alexandra Park.

Howzat (race 2) is a newcomer to the stable of Peter Scaife, the Foxton trainer, who has won five races at Forbury Park and another at Oamaru this month campaigning from Waikouaiti.

His winners, El Magic, Miracle Mach and Mister Dann, are engaged tonight with Zac Butcher retaining the drives.

Miracle Mach, winner of the claiming race last week, is in the $10,000 final of the claiming series tonight.

Wot The Owl, who won the claiming race on June 7 and finished second to Little Joe a week later, is in the field tonight. He was allowed to bypass the race last week by trainer Andrew Armour.

"I just wasn't happy with the way he pulled up after his last race and I wanted to freshen him," Armour said.

"He is over a tying up problem and has worked all right but he may not be 100%."
