The competition, which takes place twice a week, has been going for many years although the ice and weather have to play ball.
There are 23 teams from the Idaburn Curling Council competing in the event, which covers areas from around Central Otago and down into Southland.
The finals are due to be played next month.
Meanwhile, Maniototo curlers Ben and Jessica Smith won the national mixed doubles championships in Naseby over the weekend.
The duo beat Holly Thompson and Anton Hood in the final and qualified for next year's world championships in Canada.
