Anne Mitchell has hit another target in her quest to reach the Commonwealth Games.

Mitchell has recently returned from the 67th national championships in Hamilton, where she gained selection in the team to travel to New Delhi.

She will compete with the New Zealand team in the Commonwealth Games test, but doing so does not automatically mean she will compete at the Games proper.

To receive a nomination from the New Zealand Olympic Committee to compete at the Games, Mitchell says she needs to place in the top six, both individually and as a team.

Other requirements for selection centre on the tournament schedule.

Mitchell has been involved with archery since 1997 andt took up the compound bow in 2004.

At the nationals she won gold in the matchplay event, a knockout contest in which two competitors line up next to each other and fire.

She also won two silver medals and placed second overall for the target events, and a bronze in the clout event.
