The four-day event has attracted 17 teams, 210 players and 80 coaches, managers and officials. Netball New Zealand chief executive Jennie Wyllie said the tournament supports netball in its entirety.
"It also allows umpires, coaches and officials the chance to upskill and test their development against other regions."
The competition provided a pathway for up-and-coming players to gain experience. Teams from Invercargill and Dunedin were also in action yesterday.
