Former Silver Ferns and Fijian defender Vilimaina Davu played half a game for the Wakatipsies, then subbed into the second half of the Remarkabelles' game against Dom's Devils.
At 190cm, she towered over the older players.
Davu said she had a lot of fun playing golden oldies teams in a beautiful location.
"It's about having fun and meeting new people. I still feel like I'm in the Ferns with people coming up to me saying hello and asking for photographs. It's great to see everyone having fun," she said.
Davu (32) made her debut for Fiji in 1992 and went on to play more than 100 tests.
She was a member of the Silver Ferns teams that won gold medals at the 2003 world championships and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
She retired from international netball in 2006 and joined Fiji Netball as head coach of the national team to prepare it for the 2007 world championships in Auckland.
She is now working in Auckland as an employment consultant.
Davu is delighted Fiji has been chosen to host the next golden oldies world netball festival.
About 800 players representing eight nations are expected to attend the 14th festival at the Denarau Golf and Racquets Club in October-November 2011.
It will be the second time netball-mad Fiji has hosted the event, after staging the seventh festival in 1996.
Davu, who has agreed to become the official ambassador for the event, said it was an "enormous privilege" to be nominated for the role.
"I'm really looking forward to being a part of it. It is a great opportunity for Fiji."
Tourism Fiji was represented at the official launch of the event in Queenstown on Thursday night.
