Robert, Greg and Brian have inherited their dad's love for motorsport.
A former Kaitangata mayor, Bob won three South Island grass track titles and the Kaitangata hillclimb in 1967.
He also owned Scott's Garage in the South Otago town during the 1960s and '70s.
Brian, a car yard owner like his younger brother Greg, has a speedway background, but in the past two years has moved into the pre-65 saloon championship driving a 1965 XP Falcon 170 Pursuit.
He is currently third in class and fourth overall.
In this event, however, he will race his Mitsubishi Evo 1 RS.
A property business owner, Robert, who travels to Christchurch to compete, is the Canterbury single seater champion and will be driving a CAE Special - a speedway car fitted with a 283 Chevy V8, plus another commemorative vehicle.
"He's completely restored Dad's second race car, which is a V8 side-valve Bob Scott Special," Brian said yesterday.
Greg has only recently begun competing and will drive his father's Cortina-engined Scott Special this year.
The car was driven by Robert at the Kaitangata event in 2007 and 2008.
All three of them driving was a real tribute to their father, who died when Brian was 20, he said.
"I can tell you it leaves a big gap . . .
"Dad was always so much part of our lives, particularly our motor racing."
The Scott brothers join favoured local defending champion Kaitangata's Duncan McCrostie in the 1.2km gravel test.
Driving his hillclimb-spec Mitsubishi Evo, McCrostie will be battling a trio of Evo drivers - the 2008 winner, Gore's Andrew Graves, Outram's Glenn Frew and Southern Rally Series champion Dean Bond, of Balclutha.
Another gunning for glory will be former NZ Rally Xtreme champion and two-time Mainland Rally Series champion Derek Ayson, of Clinton, who will ditch his classic 2WD for a loaned Mitsubishi Evo 5.
The event is also the first leg of the Southern Twin Peaks Challenge, which offers a $500 prize to the competitor with the fastest run at this event plus the fastest at the Bluff sealed hillclimb next Saturday.
• The Bob Scott Memorial Hillclimb starts at Whites Rd, City Forests in Kaitangata at 11am.
