One again it was the Aaron Burgess show, as Dunedin Technical's in-form striker rattled in five goals during his side's 6-1 win over Northern in the Footballsouth Premier League clash on Saturday.
Burgess heads the goal-scoring charts with 15 goals in four matches.
Mosgiel's Phil Kelly is next with six, after scoring in the 2-2 draw against Spirit FC in Invercargill.
The hard-working Burgess gets into good positions to score and his maroon shirt was stained black with sweat at Tahuna Park.
Technical coach Mike Fridge also pushed Blair Scoullar forward and his calm technique certainly contributed to the scoreline.
In a weekend full of good goals, Scoullar possibly hit the best when he held off a Northern defender then, as the ball kicked up, he hit a dipping volley that beat keeper Nick Grant.
However, Technical missed Scoullar at the back and Northern enjoyed long spells of pressure in the second half.
Seamus Gray showed sharp pace when he stole the ball, accelerated away and finished with aplomb to bring the score back to 4-1 after 55 minutes, but yet another Burgess goal snuffed out Northern's revival.
At the Caledonian Ground, Roslyn-Wakari cemented second place on the table, blitzing four goals past the Otago Youth side.
The Youth side clawed back a goal in the second half before Sean Brand scored the second of his two goals to clinch the 5-1 result.
Mosgiel dropped points in Invercargill with a fiercely contested 2-2 draw against Spirit FC, whose first goal may not have crossed the goal line, but there was no doubt regarding Brendon Lloyd's long-range power shot.
Reagan Coldicott added to Kelly's goal for the drawn result that will have disappointed Mosgiel.
Green Island moved into mid-table with a 4-2 win over Grants Braes at Ocean Grove.
Goals went to Matt Kirby (2), Ryan Atherton and Daniel Rutter, while Terry Saunders and Miles Pomfrit replied for Braes.
Caversham downed Queenstown 4-1 in the re-arranged venue of Alexandra.
