Caversham suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 loss after extra time to Three Kings United in today's Chatham Cup quarterfinal at the Caledonian Ground.
Striker Dave Dugdale gave Caversham the lead in the first half and scored again in the second, with Alejandro Blanco (penalty) and Jesse van Kekum getting goals for Three Kings.
The match went to extra time, with the Auckland club taking the lead through a Jacob Mathews goal and Caversham equalising through Chris Jenkinson.
Just when it looked certain the game was heading to a penalty shootout, Luis Delmonte was given too much space and scored the winning goal for Three Kings.
