The victim of an alleged assault near his Invercargill school has been left "angry and scared".
A video, which appears to show a group of school pupils punching and kicking two other pupils in the head, was uploaded to social media and has been investigated by police.
The 14-year-old boy, who did not want want to be named, told the Otago Daily Times he did not feel comfortable returning to school.
"I don't want to go back ... not really. And my friend thinks the same.
"He doesn't want to return without me, anyway."
In an emailed statement, the school's principal confirmed he was aware of "two off-site assaults involving students".
"We find the violence involved reprehensible and are saddened that some of our students have been victims of such violence."
Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy would appear in Youth Court on Monday on one assault charge in relation to the incident.
They also said a 15-year-old boy would appear in Youth Court tomorrow on two assault charges related to the incident, as well in two other charges, not related to this incident.
Police were unable to comment further.
