A section of the Tokanui Haldane Road in Southland has been closed following a slip.
Southland District Council roading asset management engineer Hartley Hare said a 10-metre stretch of road, about 500 metres south of Graham Rd, had slipped down a bank.
The road will be closed from the intersection at Graham Rd to the intersection at Otara Haldane Rd.
A sign warning people of the closure will also be displayed in Tokanui.
The road will be inspected tomorrow.
"At this stage the cause is unknown, but there has been a lot of rain in the area, which may have contributed to the slip occurring," Mr Hare said.
