A man who allegedly stole a police car, rammed it into another and made away with two loaded police Glock pistols at Gore in August has yet to enter a plea.
Hori Gemmell appeared in the Invercargill District Court yesterday. He faces two charges of unlawfully being in possession of a pistol, unlawfully possessing ammunition in public, two charges of theft from a car, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, reckless driving and aggravated assault.
All the charges relate to an incident on August 14.
His lawyer, Sonia Vidal, asked the judge to remand Gemmell for a week to allow for alternative sentences to be explored, a possibility raised by Gemmel's whanau in Hastings.
Judge Russell Walker remanded Gemmell in custody to reappear in the Invercargill District Court on November 19.
