Firefighters have extinguished a suspected electrical blaze that caused a building in Te Anau to fill up with smoke this morning.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said two appliances from the Te Anau Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to the call-out.
They entered the building using breathing apparatus about 8.40am.
A fire was discovered and was dampened down. The spokesman said a fire investigator would be sent to the scene.
Ray White licensee agent Don McFarlane said the fire caused a small amount of damage to one of the company’s walls.
It was not clear at this stage if the fire started at an adjacent premises or not, McFarlane said.
