Emergency services are attending a well involved house fire in Heriot.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said it was notified of the fire about 2.30pm.
Four crews responded, from Heriot, Tapanui, Millers Flat and Gore stations.
When they arrived they found a well involved house fire, with smoke and flames coming from the roof of the house.
Crews were still on scene and had extinguished the blaze.
A fire investigator was en route to the scene.
The fire was not being treated as suspicious, the spokesman said.
