Could Kingston one day support a population of 10,000?

KINGSTON Village Ltd is proposing to turn the lakeside village into a "self-sufficient township" for about 10,000 residents - almost quadruple the currently-zoned population. To reach its target, KVL would expand its current subdvision, for which it has approval to go to about 750 sections, to about 1500, and add another 1000 on adjoining Glen Nevis Station land it owns. In a statement, KVL says the extra 2500 homes will create about 5000 local jobs and contribute an estimated $1 billion to GDP.
