Two Remarkables Park Stud farm stags matched last year's top price and sold for $7000 in Queenstown last week.
A 240kg sire stag sold to Steve Laughton, of Springhill farm near Winton, and one of the top yearlings with a breeding value of 20.1, was sold to Mike Burdon, of Lumsden.
Stud director Alastair Porter said there was a total clearance of venison breeding stags at the sale and 60% of the trophy stags were sold.
The average sale price throughout the afternoon was $3741, which Mr Porter said was 25% higher than that at last year's sale.
