A 22-year-old Frenchman was arrested after he allegedly stole $22.70 worth of cheese and nuts from Fresh Choice at 6.31pm on Tuesday. He was released with a pre-charge warning.

• At 7.30pm on Tuesday, police were called to an address in Earnslaw Tce to deal with an ''unwelcome visitor'' who had refused to leave a property. The visitor left before police arrived but was later served with a trespass notice. At 9.30pm on Wednesday, police were notified of a vehicle that had become stuck on rocks between the top two car parks of the Remarkables skifield. The driver called police and was told to get a tow truck.

• At 2.50am yesterday, a 24-year-old New Zealand man was stopped by police while driving in Fernhill Rd and found to be exceeding the breath-alcohol limit. He elected to have a blood test and police are awaiting the result.
