Last year brought the inaugural "singles" ball to Arrowtown, and organiser Bridget Paape said its success with more than 150 guests was reason enough for another.
"Last year, we had people come away from the night saying we should do that every month."
The ball was a great way to begin the spring season on Saturday, September 1, and there would be flowers on display to show it.
Ms Paape said she knew of one couple who met, "fell in love" and were still together one year later.
"It's about having a great time and meeting new people."
She said the crowd was traditionally a mature one, and although the night started a bit quietly, people soon got into the fun and on to the dance floor.
If there was any stigma attached to the idea of a singles function, she hoped that would be wiped the minute people walked in the door and saw the easygoing nature of Wakatipu and Arrowtown locals.
Comedian Emma Lang will break the ice, Ms Paape will greet guests at the door and introduce the crowds, and the band Lipstick will entertain on stage throughout the evening.
She and the district's Ali Blair organised the first Bachelor and Bachelorette Ball for Arrowtown last year after seeing the success of Middlemarch and Stewart Island equivalents.
This year, the Stewart Island singles ball is taking a break and Ms Paape hoped that meant those who would otherwise attend the southern ball would instead take a look at how things are done in Central Otago.
Tickets can be purchased from the Lakes District Museum in Arrowtown for $70.
