The Queenstown Hockey Club was yesterday granted $60,000 for an upgrade of asphalt tennis courts at the Frankton Domain.
The grant was approved by the Queenstown Lakes District Council's community services committee.
The upgrade will include covering the courts with Astroturf and installing lights to allow seasonal use by the hockey club.
Project manager Russell Engelke told committee members the upgrade would cost $99,000.
The committee approved $129,000 for an upgrade of Marine Pde, which includes new lighting, paving, plaques at Memorial Gate and a new footpath and seating for the parade.
