About 1000 people turned out for the festival in the Oamaru Public Gardens where about 20 stalls showcased the region's wine, food and beer.
Stallholder numbers were down on previous years, but festival co ordinator Matt Haywood said there was a good variation of local delicacies for people to sample.
''Stallholders are happy ... There's a great crowd and a really nice atmosphere,'' Mr Haywood said.
Ticket prices had been lowered for the 2015 event, and that probably boosted early ticket sales, Mr Haywood said.
About 350 tickets had been sold before the event.
The Eastern headlined the festival and the local music line up featured acoustic duo Sombrero Tuesdays, the Bella Cadets, Rockbottom, Joseph Balfe and Zoe Scott and Johnny and the Cashtones.
''The music has been really good. The local bands all punch above their weight,'' Mr Haywood said.
There were also two cooking demonstrations, by Cucina 1871 head chef Pablo Tacchini and Aoraki Polytechnic hospitality tutor Steve Le Corre.
