A dazzling line-up of jazz and blues artists from around the country brought live music to the streets of Oamaru over the weekend.
The third annual Oamaru Harbour Street Jazz Festival played out last night with a sold-out cabaret at the Loan and Merc building.
Festival co-ordinator Julie Barclay said every venue that hosted bands and musicians over the weekend had been packed.
''Everybody is just really enjoying themselves. They have all come to have a good time, especially the musicians, and that's what it's all about.
''They [musicians] have just loved it - they are just raving about it.''
The cabaret night, featuring Simply Cool and Les Richardson and local guest vocalists Chocolate and Rue de Remarque, was an ''outstanding'' way to end the weekend, Mrs Barclay said.
Harbour St in the heart of Oamaru's Victorian Precinct was closed to traffic yesterday to allow performances on a stage and despite wet weather, a large crowd gathered to hear the smooth sounds of jazz music.
Mrs Barclay expressed a ''massive thank you'' to all who supported the event and the musicians who contributed to a ''wonderful weekend''.
