Hundreds of cars were backed up along State Highway 8 near Millers Flat after a transportable house became stuck under a tree and power line this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to the scene between Millers Flat Bridge Rd and McCunn Rd at 2.55pm .
Two transportable houses were being moved when one became stuck, blocking the highway, she said.
Cars were backed up as far as Millers Flat for a time, but the road had had cleared by 3.40, a witness said.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand and a power company attended.
