Young people from Central Otago and the lakes district are being offered the chance to win a Tertiary Education Scholarship valued at $2000.
The Central Lakes Trust is offering the scholarships to people aged 16-19 who intend studying at a New Zealand tertiary institution in 2009.
There are 15 scholarships on offer and applications are at high schools through the districts.
Short-listed applicants will be interviewed in Cromwell in October.
The trust introduced the initiative in 2007 and chairman Duncan Butcher said they were impressed with the calibre of young people who had previously applied.
Applications close on September 26.
