Bragging rights are being evenly shared around the Maniototo.

The winners of the third Maniototo Cup, at the end of eight different activities on Sunday, was Patearoa-Styx.

Eight teams vied for the title.

Patearoa followed in the footsteps of inaugural champion Gimmerburn (in 2011) and Oturehua, which won the 2012 event.

The Top Town-style event was launched by community radio station Burn two years ago, to coincide with the station's 20th anniversary celebrations.

The event proved a success and is hosted by a different area each year.

This time it was Gimmerburn and next year Oturehua will host the cup. The Kyeburn team was second this year and Gimmerburn third.

''The idea of the event is to bring the community together for some good old-fashioned fun and to spread the event around the Maniototo to get people out of their corner,'' one of the organisers, Amie Pont, said.
