Dunstan Hospital's foyer rang with sound this afternoon as a flash mob protested proposed funding cuts.
The Southern District Health Board has proposed a 5% funding cut for health providers, a move that met with widespread opposition.
A petition opposing the cuts at Dunstan Hospital says they would result in a substantial reduction in the level of services provided, including the likely closure of 25%-50% of inpatient beds and a corresponding loss of jobs.
The petition has drawn nearly 1200 signatures, and closes on June 1.
