Ms Godman, a student, and her four flatmates won the $13,000 prize, from 100,000 entries.
With $250 a week for the next 52 weeks to spend on groceries, the girls were overwhelmed with what they could buy.
A normal weekly shop cost about $70, as they only cooked dinner together, with limited meat meals, and fended for themselves for lunch, she said. However, steak, potatoes and salad were on the menu last night, as a special treat.
Miss Godman said some of the vouchers would be distributed to each flatmate so they could buy their own lunches and snacks.
