The changes continue on the Otago Rugby Football Union board, with only three board members surviving from a year ago.
At the union's annual meeting in Dunedin on Monday night, former All Black coach Laurie Mains was elected to the board, along with Otago District Health Board chief medical officer Richard Bunton.
This week, Lawrence club member Willis Paterson was elected as the Otago Country delegate, replacing Trevor Stark, and Dunedin Rugby Club chairman Andrew Rooney was elected as the rugby representative on the board, after a meeting of the rugby council, and other parties such as women's rugby and schools, which represent amateur rugby.
He replaces Brent Rodger, of the Pirates club, winning the vote 6-5.
Mains and Bunton replace Tony Chave and Ross Laidlaw.
Chave did not seek re-appointment, and Laidlaw resigned last year after being appointed Highlanders chairman.
Otago chairman Ron Palenski has also resigned.
His replacement as an independent member is yet to be finalised.
Former Otago loose forward Dave Callon was appointed to the board last year, when Steve Thompson resigned after 11 years.
Otago Country chairman Colin Walker said there was nothing sinister in Stark being replaced.
There had been rumours in country circles that Stark would be ousted after he failed to support Otago Country coach David Latta in trying to secure the Otago coaching job.
Walker said Paterson was the only candidate.
Stark had done his two-year term and simply did not want to continue.
Paterson said yesterday he was looking forward to being involved but it would not be an easy job.
Rodger said he was disappointed to lose the position.
He felt he had worked hard as he was the voice for much of amateur rugby at a board level.
The three remaining board members from a year ago are John Walker, vice-chairman Adrian Read and Wayne Graham, who was elected last year.
Palenski's replacement as chairman will be debated over the next week by an appointed committee, and a recommendation will go to the board at its first meeting on March 8.
The role looks like a contest between Graham and Read, although Mains can not be counted out.
