The Waitaki District Council has released images of the Beach Rd coastline taken from a drone being used to assess coastal erosion.

Last month, the council contracted Fulton Hogan to complete a drone survey of 8.6km of Waitaki coastline.

None of the video footage had been released to the council yet and, from the photographs available at this stage, it did not have any immediate concerns, roading manager Michael Voss said.

''But obviously we want to really look at it in its wholeness,'' he said.

Mr Voss expected interest in a different perspective of the coastline to be high.

''It'll be great for people to have a look at a different perspective of the coastline.''

He hoped to have all of the footage from Fulton Hogan by the end of the month.
