In the lead-up to the departure of Queenstown's Top Town team for Christchurch, Queenstown Resort College will act as a base for competitor meetings and functions.
The college decided to sponsor the event after seeing a flyer asking for help, communications manager Nicola Grigg said.
"We thought it would be a good community event," Ms Grigg said.
QRC chief executive officer Charlie Phillips, said it was delighted to offer its support to Queenstown's Top Town team.
"Not only will the college act as principal sponsor, it will also operate as team headquarters for the duration of the event," Mr Phillips said.
"As well as that, our students will also be involved in helping cater the team barbecue and send-off at the Recreation Grounds on November 25th."
Team leader, Melissa Davidson, was still getting the team together after two people could not get the time off work.
"It is a shame - we had them on the team but now we are looking for one girl and a guy."
"We have 12 people going off to represent Queenstown and having that support going into the competition is fantastic," she said.
